Caddo Lobster Company brings Maine lobster bakes to Dallas, TX.
Caddo Lobster Company was founded by Chap Bernet and Dodge Carter in 2023. The company was inspired by a business founded almost 40 years ago by two of Chap’s uncles, Billy and Michael. Uncle Billy managed the historic Grey Havens Inn in Georgetown, Maine during the summer and would head to Dallas when the Inn closed down for the winter. During the offseason, Uncle Billy saw an opportunity to bring the traditional Maine lobster bake to Texas, and partnered with Uncle Michael, a commercial lobsterman. Uncle Michael would send him fresh Maine lobster down to Dallas, and while they had a tons of fun and saw some success, they found that shipping live lobster from Maine to Texas was difficult. Technology and logistics have come a long way since then, and Chap and Dodge look forward to revitalizing Uncle Billy’s at home lobster bake concept with Caddo Lobster Company. Chap and Dodge have been friends since before they could remember, and while enjoying a beer or three at a local watering hole the idea for Caddo Lobster Co. was born.
